I'm sure most of you have seen the humorous query, "Have you made your eternal reservations - smoking or non-smoking?"  Witty, yes.  And yet, oh-so-true.  So - have you confirmed your eternal destination?  

You can be confident of your salvation (spending eternity in heaven) simply by asking Christ into your heart and begin a personal relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Our Heavenly Father loves us and longs for us to spend eternity with Him - in Heaven. Yes, our time on earth is a good thing, in fact - pretty fun!  As great as life is, isn't it hard to fathom that Heaven can and will be so much better?

When our journey on this earth is complete and our purpose is fulfilled, how can we be assured we�re going to heaven?  It's simple.  First, we believe that because of sin, we are separated from God and are spiritually dead (Romans 3:23). God, because He loves us, has provided a way for us to connect with Him by sending His Son, Jesus, who never sinned, to die in our place on the cross as payment for our sin. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.�  John 3:16.

To begin this personal relationship with God, follow the 3 A's to a new beginning - a Christian life:  

1) Acknowledge your sin
2) Ask for forgiveness
3) Affirm your belief by praying a prayer like this:

Dear God, I understand I am a sinner and I thank you for forgiving my sins.  I believe Jesus died for my sins that day on the cross.  I accept His merciful gift of eternal life and I ask you to come into my heart.  From this day on I choose to follow You in humble obedience and earnestly seek Your will for my life.

Regardless of where you've been or where you are in life, be assured that God knows all about it - and yet He loves you and has a purpose for your life.  His arms are open - for you.
